some tips on using your emotions to get work done (taken from the video):

  • intense fear paralyzes you. so, keep yourself away from it, or learn to deal with it effectively
  • fear and anxiety causes you to be focused and not be distracted from the object of anxiety. so, direct your anxiety to the work that you want to get done
  • happiness allows for greater susceptibility to out-of-the-box thinking, disruption, and distraction. so, if you’re focused on something you don’t want to be focused on, go find something to make you happy, then direct your anxiety to what you want to focus on. or, if you just want to do something creative grab some ice cream. 😀
  • to get work done set a deadline and be anxious (about the work the work you want to get done)… really
